The German Freight Forwarding and Logistics Association (DSLV) e.V. serves as the industry's governing body for freight forwarding and logistics in Germany. It was established in 2003 as a result of the merger of Vereinigung Deutscher Kraftwagenspediteure (VKS) and Bundesverband Spedition und Logistik (BSL). The association serves as a service provider and advisor to its over 4,000 members on all issues pertaining to the transport and logistics sector.
DSLV represents the interests and issues that the forwarding, warehousing, transport, and logistics sectors share, particularly with regard to national and international organizations, legislators, and the general public. Additionally, it serves as a consultant and gives members training and certification.
The DSLV is the only leading organization in the German transportation sector that offers the whole spectrum of freight forwarding and logistics services, along with its cooperating partners. In order to speak out on directives, rules, and proposed laws in the best interests of its member enterprises, DSLV also engages in the discussion of transportation policy.
