FIATA is the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (from the French Fédération Internationale des Associations de Transitaires et Assimilés). It is the global body representing the freight forwarding and logistics industry.
Founded in 1926 and based in Switzerland, FIATA is a non-governmental organisation that brings together national freight forwarder associations from around the world. It represents the sector internationally and issues widely used standard documents, such as the FIATA Bill of Lading (FBL), to create common freight-forwarding practices worldwide.
