A subsequent delivery is an additional or replacement shipment sent when an order cannot be completed in one delivery, for example because stock was short or the first delivery was faulty.
It typically arises in two cases: part of an order is out of stock and the remainder follows later, or the goods first delivered were defective and the buyer is entitled to a correct replacement.
Subsequent deliveries run alongside the normal outbound logistics flow and add handling and cost, so keeping stock accurate and first deliveries correct helps avoid them and keeps customers satisfied.
