HAWB is an abbreviation for House Air Waybill, which is a document issued by a freight forwarder to a shipper following the arrival of a shipment. HAWB is a confirmation that the forwarder will deliver the shipper's goods to a specified location.
In general, the shipping procedure begins with the shipper and ends with the forwarder, who subsequently sends the goods to a carrier. The forwarder issues the HAWN upon receipt of the goods from the shipper. When the items are received from the forwarder, the carrier issues a MAWB - Master Air Waybill at the other end of the procedure.
